NOTABLE WORK
Hydrologic and land restoration design for roadways, stream crossings and commercial development – Montezuma and Dolores Counties, Colorado San Juan County, NM, and Ogden, UT. Rider Resources staff has developed runoff models for numerous drainage improvement projects and landscape scale restoration projects. Reclamation design has included implementation of geomorphic reclamation practices used to mimic natural land processes.
Dam modification and whitewater park permitting – US Army Corps of Engineers and Iowa DNR.
Stream Protection Rule creation – Pitkin County Colorado. Warren Rider led Pitkin County in the development of water resources protection standards for new development. Stream protection rules were implemented to allow for flexibility where critical resources were not impacted by development proposals.
Private Floodplain analysis for land development proposals, Pitkin, Dolores, and Montezuma Counties. Rider Resources staff led the analysis of land development proposals within FEMA jurisdictional floodplains, leading to land development recommendations that would avoid property damage to multiple private residences and business interests.
Gateway Canyons Resort – Rider Resources carried out land use, water rights and streamflow analysis for multiple development scenarios. Rider Resources staff led the review of various development options for optimization of water rights, habitat enhancement, and economic benefit.
Remote Monitoring – Silverton, CO. Rider Resources has developed and implemented systems for remote monitoring of environmental, water rights, and recreation related data. Initially designed for the scientific community, Warren Rider’s work has expanded into the realm of irrigation diversions and recreation monitoring to improve the user experience.
